Is the blanket actually attached, or is that just styling?
Attached. Stitched to the bolster along one edge — that's the entire point. They pull it over themselves and it can't end up in a heap at 2am. You can still fold it back completely on warm nights.
Will it flatten into a sad pancake after a month?
That's what single-layer polyfill beds do. CloudNest runs chopped support foam beneath the soft fill, so the wall keeps its height while the surface still gives. If the loft collapses under normal use, that's a defect and we replace it.
Can I wash the whole thing, or just a cover?
The whole thing goes in. Cold, gentle, tumble low or air dry. No zip-off cover to lose, no dry-clean asterisk. Shake it out once dry to bring the sherpa loop back up.
My pet is a heavy shedder. Does fur weld into the plush?
The outer pile is short and dense, so fur sits on the surface instead of threading in. A lint roller or dry sponge clears most of it in under a minute. The sherpa side holds more — that side gets the wash.
Will it reek of chemicals out of the box?
There can be a faint packaging smell from being compressed for shipping. Unfold it, let it breathe a few hours, gone. Want it neutral immediately? Wash it before first use — it's built for that.
Won't they overheat buried under sherpa?
Animals thermoregulate constantly — they burrow in for warmth and crawl out when they don't want it. The blanket only covers part of the nest, so both options stay available.
